How does a hair transplant has changed my life
Let me take a few minutes to share some of my story with you. So far I'm 39 and I live in Los Angeles. Hair loss began at age 22 and slowly progressed. All young players reading this, believe me, I know how you feel and believe me when I tell you there hope for a good set of hair on most of you. Anyway, I always been self-conscious of my hairline and down in the early 90s began to question the doctors in the general framework of Los Angeles. You can call them, I can tell you that I had asked, I went to Bosley, Dr. Wolf, Mr. Meshkin, Mr. Rassman, Medical Center of restoration and many others I do not remember. With hindsight, I was so lucky not to have surgery done at that time because if I had, I would probably be more doll hair plugs coming out of my head.
Thus, at the age of 35 I married and settled with my beautiful wife. I really started to notice I lose my hair at the age of 36 years. It was pointed out to me by someone my work because it was my upstairs neighbor looking down at my crown area.
I then decided to stop and my hair loss and change my appearance forever, for the better. So, again, I started my search online for months. I read articles, Web sites visited and spoke to patients. In my search for a name came again and again, "Hasson and Wong" based in Vancouver, Canada.. In almost all the forums they had positive comments on several occasions in patients who had transplant procedures by either Dr. Wong or Dr. Hasson. After four months of searching, I Hasson and Wong agreed that was the one for me. Why did I decide Surgeons of the United States? Simple, they were one of the best, if not the best in the world and a hair transplant surgery is life changing. You can not hide a hair transplant, once it is done thats it, your stuck with him for life. Thus, 3.5 hours away where I lived at their office for work done by the transplant was the best obvious to me. I travel to China if the best doctors were located there.
But where the physician, Dr. Wong or Dr. Hasson? Everywhere I read the two also had good reviews, it does not stand on each other in their skills or practice as a surgeon. One day, I Jatronics read blog, which is a patient of Dr. Wong past and who also works for Hasson and Wong present. On his website he describes in detail his own experiences Hair loss and why he chose Dr. Wong and his entire transplant procedure with Dr. Wong. After reading this post, I decided Dr. Wong was the one for me. I made my first contact to Hasson and Wong e-mail, actually my whole hair transplant consultation has been conducted online. I sent some pictures of my current status of hair loss and Dr. Wong made an assumption about the number of transplants I need and how much the total cost the operation would be. I told him I wanted the maximum allowed, which was agreed to cost about 3800 grafts at the time was approximately $ 11,000., Who was for me, because most surgeons here in Los Angeles, where the double well, airfare and hotel where also included. Hasson and Wong pay for 2 full days of room and tickets. We were given a large room and large hotel on Granville Granville Island in Vancouver. My wife and I decided to make a short stay to ourselves.
When we arrived in Vancouver in the middle 2004, we went straight to our hotel in Granville. We unpacked and had brunch, and since I insisted on meeting Dr. Wong person for a face to face consultation before surgery, we then left for Hasson and Wong day before surgery. My wife and I met Joe Tillman and Dr Wong this afternoon turned out to be more than I expected. We talked about how the operation will take place, The donor scar, my donor density and so on. It was a great event that helped me prepare for the surgery coming the next day at 6:00. My wife and I returned to our hotel and had a great dinner and relaxed.
The day of the operation, I was really nervous and constant reality in. Believe me when I tell you just before going in my area who have come from donors, I suffered a panic attack, my heart was pounding and I said to myself, if it does not I'll be scared for life. Nobody knew what was happening, except my wife and she calmed me by telling me she had absolutely no doubt that the procedure should be done properly. So I planned as President and Dr Wong walked me anesthesia and I started to cut the donor area. Now, let me say All, I have a low tolerance for pain and I can honestly say that the dentist is more painful, personally, I felt no pain either at Wong cut my donor area. After the donor area has been taken, I was stitched up and in another room for the harvest. They had nurses 6-8, excluding Dr. Wong harvest implants that were 10-12 hours. We started at 6:30 and were done by 4:00 pm. I watched two DVD films, "The Lord of the Rings", spoke to Mr Wong spoke to the nurses, my wife and ate sushi for lunch. I did everything that the implants were harvested. There was absolutely no pain. After surgery was complete gave me painkillers, given a hat, paid, thanked all participants for their precision and professionalism and I'm back the hotel. We left for Los Angeles the next morning. The next day my face was swollen due to anesthetic drugs that was inserted in my head to numb the area of transplantation.
The swelling lasted one day after which the region was transplanted red for about 2-4 weeks. The redness of the area depends on the individuals transplanted completion of the skin. If you are white and pale skin like me, redness lasts longer if you are tanned and dark skin, the redness may not even be noticeable. All hair transplant donors fell within 10 days. The next phase, which lasts about 3-6 months is the resting phase. I began to see the hairs pop through the 4-5 month mark, which was surprising for a guy who, before what happened in fat each year. From July 8-10, I noticed a brand new with me a whole new set of hair, absolutely incredible. For the first time in 10 years that I can use a brush not a comb to brush my hair.
